Christmas Carol Art

I fell in love with this pic on Pinterest and decided to make an attempt on a smaller scale for my home.

Pinned Image

And this is how it turned out.  Not too bad, although I like the white on charcoal better, but it was easier to do the black on white to try for the first time.

I added some gold and silver glitter to accent the letters and give it a twinkling effect.

I have 2 ornaments that I will be sharing with y'all this weekend.  Nothin like some last minute crafting:)

Longhorn painting done!

I first posted about this project HERE and now it's done!  I made this one for my boyfriend Christopher and it will actually hang in our home somewhere.  I still need to rub'n'buff the frame.

I am always making art for other people or I get sick of it and sell it so now we have one for ourselves.

This is the only other piece I have painted for the house.

Longhorn Artwork Underway

Here is the artwork that I am working on that I was inspired to make by the Ballard Designs Horses.  I liked the look of the horses but I didn't want Horses.  So here is the first phase.

This is a photo I got off the internet and altered with a picture editor so that I could do the black and white.

This canvas and frame used to have a really ugly and tacky beach scene.  I tried to paint over it and I painted a disaster almost as ugly as the original beach scene.  So I took out a can of black spray paint and sprayed the frame and then I grabbed some black gloss wall paint and went to town on the Canvas...

This is just the first phase.  It still needs lots of grey shadowing and black detailing and then I am going to antique it a little.  The frame will probably get some gold rub'n'buff too:)

I wrote some lettering in the background but I am going to paint over it cause I liked it better just black.

Hopefully I will have this sucker done in the next couple days!

Ballard Designs Art Inspiration

So I have a giant canvas that was once a tacky beach scene... so I painted over it and tried a cherry blossom painting and distressed it...aka ruined it and banished it to my shed.  Well now I am going through the great purge and I was thinking maybe I can paint over it again and use it in the new house we are moving to.  I came across this nifty piece at Ballard Designs but I think I am going to do longhorns instead and pay homage to Chris' Texas roots...
Stay tuned for an update!
