Sneaky Peak

I know I have not been posting but I promise after this weekend there are going to be plenty of posts to make up for my absence.  The wedding shower I am throwing will finally be this weekend and since I want it to be a surprise, and my wonderful bestie is a faithful follower of this blog... I don't want to spoil it!

But here are some teasers... I just cant help myself!

I bought these straws from Hey YoYo and added little ribbon flags to them:)

These are the junk paper rosettes I have made.  I will be posting a tutorial on these.  They are made of various materials.  White coffee filters, tea stained coffee filters, pink dyed coffee filters, white paper doilies, cupcake liners, book pages, tulle circles and scrapbook paper.

I made a HUGE mess all over the kitchen counter last night finishing up 15 of these and 40 other fabric and paper flowers.  There will be lots of paper and fabric flower tutorials to come!

Can't wait to show you the final product!!!

Whoo Hoo this is my 100th post!!

Just wanted to give y'all a sneak peak of one of the goodies I made for Stacey's Bachelorette Party.  I can't wait to share the rest of the goodies but I don't want to spoil the surprise:)  (She has already seen these)

This is also my first project using the Silhouette machine.  I am still figuring it out but these turned out well!
This is a beach weekend so the party favors are drink cups to take our cocktails to the pool:)

Wedding Shower Invitations

My bestie is getting married in April and we are doing all kinds of fun stuff leading up to her wedding. I am working on loads of things but I can't post them until after she gets to see them so my posts will be delayed.  I have made some fun stuff for her bachelorette party this weekend:)  So I will post about that next week.

I am throwing her a shower and wanted to have really fun invitations without breaking the bank.  Her colors are yellow and gray with splashes of fuchsia.  (I am really excited that us bridesmaids get to wear fuchsia shoes!)  Anyway, the shower is a garden party theme and will have tons of hand made stuff so I wanted the invite to reflect that. 30 invitations cost about $25 to make:)

First I started with this at home printable wedding invitation kit ($20 on clearance at Michaels)

I grabbed a couple sheets of Scrapbook paper from my stash.

And  cut out all the circles and cut small circular shapes from the stripe paper.

Then I crinkled the circles, then used glue dots to adhere them to the invite in clusters

Here's a pic of about half of the ones I had done

I then took the "RSVP" Cards which I printed as the registry card and tied them with the bow that came in the  package.

Bright and colorful alluding to the handmade craftiness that is to come!!
